How much does a split system install cost in Cairns?
It depends on the size of the unit, how far the indoor and outdoor units sit apart, whether the wall run is straightforward, and whether new electrical work is needed. We quote per job after looking at the space, so the number you get is the number you pay. Call 0480 627 029 for a quote.
How often should commercial refrigeration be serviced?
Most commercial coolrooms, freezers and display cabinets are serviced at least twice a year, and busy kitchens more often. Tropical humidity and dust load coils faster than the manufacturer schedules assume. Regular servicing costs far less than losing a coolroom of stock on a Friday night.
Do you service the Atherton Tablelands?
Yes. As well as Cairns, Gordonvale, Edmonton and the northern beaches, we service up the Range to Mareeba and Atherton. Tell us the suburb when you call and we will tell you when we can be there.
Is FNQ Air Solutions licensed and insured?
Yes. FNQ Air Solutions Pty Ltd holds QBCC licence 15533799 and ARCTick refrigerant handling licence AU62644. Both are legally required to install air conditioning and to handle refrigerant gas in Australia, and both are checkable on the public registers.
Why is my air conditioner not cooling?
The common causes are a blocked filter or coil, low refrigerant from a leak, a failed capacitor or fan motor, or a control fault. Some of it is a clean, some of it is a part, and the fix depends on which. We diagnose it first and tell you what it needs before doing the work.
Do I need a licensed technician to install air conditioning?
Yes. In Australia it is illegal for an unlicensed person to handle refrigerant gas, and most manufacturers void the warranty on a unit installed by an unlicensed installer. Using a licensed tech protects both the legality of the work and the warranty on your equipment.
Do you do both residential and commercial work?
Both. Homes, units and rentals through to commercial kitchens, cafes, shops, offices and cold storage. Commercial refrigeration and commercial air conditioning are a core part of what we do rather than a sideline.
What size air conditioner do I need for a Cairns bedroom or living room?
Sizing depends on floor area, ceiling height, window area and orientation, insulation and how many people use the room. Far North Queensland humidity means a unit sized for a southern climate will underperform here. We size it on site so you are not paying to run a unit bigger than you need.
